While these spoonbills are quite a common sight here, as soon as i saw this particular bird emerge after a dip in the, i knew it was only a matter of seconds before it started ruffling. Harsh sunlight on the bird gave me the opportunity to expose for the whites on the bird and get a nice underexposed background.
